Tools to help you get where you want to go and be who you want to be.
Intentional Writing
It isn’t journal writing.
Without intention and direction, journaling is nothing more than ruminating on paper. Just like mental rumination, it feels like you’re working on something or trying to solve a problem. But rather than leading to clarity, the process only serves to keep you stuck. After you’re finished you might be more confused than you were when you began.
The two basic approaches to writing used here access two different kinds of processing: associative and logical/liner. The problem with unstructured writing is that you tend not to get the full benefit of either.

Personal Agency
Develop your ability to take intentional action on your own behalf.
A reliable sense of personal agency will serve you better and longer in life than will good luck, fortunate circumstances, or vast resources. Luck, circumstances, and access to resources are inconsistent, at best. They can change independent of your desires or actions, which means they are out of your control.
Your sense of agency, however, is entirely under your control.
Developing a reliable sense of personal agency requires intention and practice. But as you train your brain to be more effective in specific situations, you also modify your overall locus of control, which then reinforces your sense of agency thus creating an ongoing positive feedback loop!
