Farther to Go! is a transformational community that is on the it’s-about-all-of-us track rather than the it’s-all-about-me track. That means everyone participates with the intention of being part of the transformational change process for both themselves and the people they interact with.
My view of this community is that it’s a series of ongoing conversations that intermingle, expand, contract, and feed each other. I expect to be challenged and to learn from my clients just as they are challenged by and learn from me.
While I work with people individually, I strongly believe in the power of groups. Working individually allows for more responsiveness and spontaneity and makes it easier to set an effective pace. Group participation allows people to expand their perspectives by hearing others’ questions and perceptions. It creates a synergy that’s vital to this process. We have to be exposed to troublesome concepts repeatedly and in different settings and from different perspectives in order to fully understand and integrate them.
As one of my clients recently said:
There is no way to “get” this—or many important lessons about my brain—on my own. Group process is critical to breaking through my mental model’s “stuckness” that alone, or even one-on-one, doesn’t allow for transformational change. —D.D.
Course material can be used with both individuals and groups. (See the Courses page for more information.) And individual clients have multiple opportunities to participate in ongoing groups.
Intention Groups or Duos: Two or more individuals commit to supporting each other by meeting once a month with me and at least once a month without me.
Action Lab: A maximum of six individuals commit to meeting once a month for six months to focus on achieving a personal desired outcome.
Certification Program: A maximum of five individuals commit to participating in the training for the three introductory workshops. (Those who are certified are not required to facilitate future workshops.)
Other Workshops: Workshops on specific topics such as the Operating Systems are offered periodically for four to six participants.
In addition, Transform the World has been meeting twice a month for three years to focus on translating the principles of transformational change for larger groups, organizations, and societies.
